Department of Accounting & Finance

A Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance (BSAF) equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary for a rewarding career in accounting or finance. This program aims to enhance students’ employability skills and prepare them for the job market. It provides comprehensive knowledge in accounting and finance through various methods, including lectures, projects, field trips, practical training, internships, case studies, industry speakers, seminars, and the utilization of various financial and accounting software.

The programme helps students acquire knowledge in various areas of finance and accounting, including financial accounting, bookkeeping, auditing, managerial accounting, international accounting, financial management, investment and portfolio management, and international finance.

Mission

The Accounting & Finance program is committed to providing students with a comprehensive and in-depth education in accounting and finance. Our program equips students with the technical skills, critical thinking abilities, and strong work ethic necessary to excel in various accounting and finance careers. We emphasize the importance of ethical conduct and professional responsibility, preparing students to become valuable assets to organizations of all sizes.

The Objectives of the program

This program was designed:

  • To develop advanced knowledge in the functional areas of accounting and finance.
  • To enhance students’ understanding of accounting concepts and techniques necessary for successfully managing accounting functions.
  • To prepare students for designing an audit program that includes planning, testing, and reporting phases in line with overall audit objectives, engagement risk assessment, and internal controls.
  • To apply auditing concepts to evaluate the conformity of financial statements with appropriate auditing standards.
  • To produce professional accountants and financial experts with the necessary skills to address the accounting needs of the country.

 

  1. Completion of secondary school with a minimum overall average of 50%
  2. Should bring the original and a copy of secondary school certificate
  3. Should bring Six (6) passport size photos with white background
  4. Should bring the original copy of a letter of good conduct issued by your secondary school
  5. Should bring a sponsorship letter from your guardian
  6. Should successfully pass an admission interview and/or test
  7. Pay non-refundable Processing and ID card fees of USD $50 (bank draft)
