About the Programme of Economics

 

The Bachelor of Arts in Economics Degree programmed is intended to produce graduates who are technically and intellectually competent in building careers in the application of Economic Theories, Models and Techniques in day to day Business decision making process.

Program Educational Objectives:
  • Understand and explain the behavior of economic and financial indicators and the effect of policy on the aggregate economy in the context of domestic and international environments.  
  • Apply statistical and econometric techniques to collect, analyze and interpret data
  • Effectively communicate research findings both verbally and in writing.
  • Use economic concepts and theories to explain business and economic phenomena in a domestic and global context
  • provide professionals develop an understanding of business, markets, trade, government policies and international issues, globalization, health, development, and the environment;
  • Provide students with the theoretical understanding and practical skills necessary to evaluate and direct decisions regarding the allocation of financial resources among a variety of competing opportunities with the goal of maximizing the value of the resources being managed.
  • make students capable to apply economics in policy issues and real-world problems
  • equip students with the latest tools of analysis and expose them to most modern outcomes of economics research
  • provide students with confidence to analyze business problems in the workplace
  • prepare students for careers in management, government, education, private sector and international organizations
  1. Completion of secondary school with a minimum overall average of 50%
  2. Should bring the original and a copy of secondary school certificate
  3. Should bring Six (6) passport size photos with white background
  4. Should bring the original copy of a letter of good conduct issued by your secondary school
  5. Should bring a sponsorship letter from your guardian
  6. Should successfully pass an admission interview and/or test
  7. Pay non-refundable Processing and ID card fees of USD $50 (bank draft)
